Independent Enterprise GRC Software Platforms Evaluation: In its latest evaluation of 15 leading Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform vendors, Forrester has identified “Active Risk Manager as a Leader for risk” and a “Strong Performer in the overall Governance, Risk and Compliance software market”.

Strategic Thought Group (STG) was recently included in an independent evaluation of the GRC software market in “The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance Platform, Q4 2007.” In their comprehensive evaluation, Forrester looked for a GRC software platform capable of supporting the ability to become “sustainable, consistent, efficient and transparent”. They define the enterprise GRC platform as the “centre for defining, maintaining and monitoring governance, risk and compliance – connecting complex processes across the organization.”

Enterprise GRC Platforms were examined against over 100 evaluation criteria and grouped into 3 high-level categories: current offering, strategy, and market presence.

Strategic Thought’s Active Risk Manager (ARM) software platform was deemed a “Leader” in the risk category and a “Strong Performer” in the overall GRC software market. “Strategic Thought showed the greatest focus and ability to address broad and deep enterprise risk management requirements. The company’s technology strategy and vision scored the highest of the vendors evaluated, based upon product maturity, broad use of the product, and impressive experience and expertise in systems integration and advisory.”

Active Risk Manager also earned the highest score overall in the GRC analytics category of the risk management platforms evaluation. Furthermore, Strategic Thought “shared the top spot for overall satisfaction amongst the customer references who demonstrated very sophisticated enterprise risk management implementations with quantifiable business value.”

Active Risk Manager is used by over 100 customers across the globe, amongst them some of the world’s largest companies, including Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce, Kellogg Brown and Root, and Nestle.

Strategic Thought, a public company listed on the London Stock Exchange (Ticker Symbol STR.L), was one of the first companies to enter the risk management software market with Active Risk Manager being launched as the first fully web-based risk management platform in 2001. Strategic Thought’s relatively long history in the risk management business, as well as firm and deep roots in technical integration means that STG’s technology strategy and vision scored the highest of the vendors evaluated.

Having been in the risk software market since its inception, Strategic Thought is aware of the issues that can be faced when attempting to gain value from something as extensive and complex as enterprise wide governance, risk and compliance. Mark Brown, Client Service Director at Strategic Thought said, “While GRC is a credible vision, the amount of change required by any organization to achieve the benefits of GRC is almost too far-reaching for it to be practical. We focus on the rewards offered by GRC through the risk vehicle, thus enabling a cost/benefit perspective to be taken regarding any investment and desired return that GRC is to deliver.”

Strategic Thought is able to provide its clients with a highly competitive GRC software product, not just through its technical vision and extensive risk capabilities, but also with consulting leadership in ERM and various specific domains of risk management in several industries.
