Risk managers come in all shapes and sizes and are from diverse backgrounds. I was amazed to find that very little research had been carried out into what makes a great risk manager and whether these skills are changing to meet emerging challenges.
Active Risk commissioned research which began in mid-2011. Risk professionals from around the world were invited to take part by completing an online confidential psychometric survey. Now after over 550 responses from around the world, across a wide range of industries, it’s becoming clearer as to the types of personalities working in the profession and the issues they are facing as the risk management profession develops.
In this blog I’ll discuss the results of our research and its implications. I’ll also highlight examples of great risk management which we have seen and offer practical tips to help take your risk management team from good to great.
Why not take our short survey to find out how your personality traits are best applied in the risk profession?
